Dec 2 - Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, whose sport is coming off a record year, downplayed expectations for the 2009 season and says their are "a lot of variables that we have to be concerned about."
Selig, speaking at the Reuters Media Summit in New York on Tuesday, said the game is no longer recession-proof and that it is telling all of its teams to be "sensitive" about raising ticket prices and spending through 2009.
