Tow trucks are out in force
If you’re parked on Prospect Ave. between Juneau Ave. and Brady St., you probably won’t be for long.
Like numerous major thoroughfares, Prospect Ave. is designated as a snow emergency route. And the city has declared a snow emergency — which means if you haven’t already been towed, you’re about to be.
Near Brady on Prospect at 1:20 a.m., at least a half-dozen parking enforcement Jeeps and three tow trucks were at work. What one colleague had described as "girly-man snow" just an hour or so ago seems now to be turning to real snow — the kind that could pile up by the morning commute.
If your car has been towed, you can claim it at the city tow lot, 3811 W. Lincoln Ave. Tow lot hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. You can call the lot at (414) 286-2700.
Towing and storage fees listed on the city Web site are $95 for towing and $20 per day for storage.
