Arson suspected in fire at Mexican market in San Jose

When units of the San Jose Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at the Northside Super Mercado Saturday morning, they had to break into the abandoned building to fight the blaze. But they weren’t the first ones to force their way in, according to Capt. Barry Stallard.’It turned into a crime scene because somebody had broken through an exterior wall to get in and set fire to the place,’ Stallard said. San Jose police were called in to investigate an arson fire.
